How it works
1. Drop the file
PDFs are opened locally; images are read directly.
2. Text layer first
If the PDF was generated digitally it already contains text — we read that, no OCR, near-perfect accuracy.
3. OCR only for scans
Photos and scanned pages go through a WebAssembly OCR engine on your machine.
Limits, honestly
- Handwriting fails — printed text only.
- Only vendor, date, total and currency are extracted; line items are not parsed yet.
- Merged-cell tables and unusual layouts need manual fixing.
