Why this is annoyingThe problem with receipt to excel
- Receipts arrive as photos, which is the worst possible input for a spreadsheet.
- Expense tools want a monthly subscription and your bank connection. For a small business, a CSV is enough.
- Doing it by hand is an evening per quarter.
Three steps.
1. Photograph or scan
One receipt per photo, flat, no glare.
2. Drop them all at once
Each image becomes one row.
3. Fix and export
Correct the amount if the print was faint, then download CSV for Excel.
FAQ
Can it read a crumpled receipt?
Usually the total and date, not the line items. Flatten the paper and avoid shadow.
Does it store my receipts?
No. There is no upload step at all.
Excel or CSV?
The export is CSV, which opens directly in Excel and Google Sheets.
